Your Hosts

Margie and Ned have called Queenstown 'home' for more than 20 years.

Margie, originally from Australia, spent most of her childhood travelling with family to the UK, Europe, Asia and New Zealand. It was no surprise that the nomadic childhood led her to seek a career in travel. For 10 years she worked in varied roles around the globe including as a ‘Jillaroo’ in Booligal, Australia, a nanny in Calgary, Canada, a silver service waitress and delivering cars in America. She found her true passion when she qualified as a ski instructor at Lake Louise, Canada, which led to a career in the ski industry spanning 20 years and three continents, including travelling to Tahiti and Noumea each year to promote skiing in New Zealand. From ski instructor to ski manager to area manager for a major NZ tourism corporate, she now has a growing appreciation for her garden and observing the changes brought on by Queenstown’s four distinct seasons. An avid ski racer, she still competes in Masters Ski Racing, but passions now include golf, cycling and exploring local walks.

Ned, originally from Bearsden, Scotland (hence the name of our B & B) has lived in New Zealand for over 50 years. He is a proud Kiwi who has also travelled extensively throughout the world. An accomplished yachtsman, Ned represented New Zealand in several classes at international level, and shares Margie’s passion for the mountains, golf courses and on and off-road cycling.

Margie and Ned both look forward to meeting you. They reside at Bearsden so are on hand to help you get the most of the region

Bruno, our very youthful looking 7 year old Black Labrador Retriever, couldn’t agree more. He loves meeting new people that he can influence into throwing balls and going walking. He is great company and sure to win your heart.
